Gersh ABA Services to Open Five Applied Behavior Analysis Centers Throughout Long Island

Gersh ABA Services provides a combination of one-on-one therapy with stimulating group activity.

In response to the growing population of children with autism spectrum disorder on Long Island, Gersh ABA Services will open five new Applied Behavior Analysis Centers throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties at the beginning of 2019. Gersh ABA Services has developed ABA Centers that address the individual ways children on the autism spectrum learn. The center-based services will be located in  Glen Cove, Glen Head, Hauppauge, and West Hills at the West Hills Day Camp campus. The West Hempstead facility is now open and continues to accept new applicants.

The combination of therapy, environment, and reinforcers offered in the more socialized setting at the ABA centers offers a better alternative than being treated at home. The new centers provide both one-on-one therapy and stimulating group atmospheres to help individuals improve on attending, peer interaction, and generalization. The program also makes efforts to help children with steady growth of social relationships. The access to reinforcers and structured breaks will help reduce the boredom that often occurs in a home learning environment.

By combining scientifically validated discreet trials with opportunities to generalize, socialize, become more independent, and improve on all essential skills, Gersh ABA Services aims to receive the best possible outcomes and to drastically change the lives of those with autism.

“In addition to our incredibly talented staff—including highly trained Board-Certified Behavior Analysts—and our more than 27 years of experience in special education, what makes these centers truly different is the wide range of environments in which they’re set,” said Joseph Laudadio, regional operations manager at Gersh ABA Services.

Gersh ABA Services has also put a streamlined intake system into place in order to allow parents to quickly receive the support their children need.

“We know there’s a lot of frustration in the area about a lack of responsiveness to inquiries for ABA services, and we’re committed to improving this process to make information gathering and applications as easy as possible,” says Laudadio.

The Gersh Organization is a leading provider of educational and support services for children on the autism spectrum and their families. For more information visit the Gersh ABA Services website.
