MAGIC Activity Center Adds STEAM-Based Morning Classes

MAGIC Activity Center has added STEAM-based morning classes to its offerings on the Upper East Side.

MAGIC Activity Center, formerly known as 74th St. MAGIC, serves children ages 2 months to 5 years and offers classes, birthday parties, and summer camp.

Starting in September, the business will be offering its popular STEAM-based (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) classes in the morning for children ages 2-5. The drop-off preschool alternative program was expanded to include morning classes—in addition to its afternoon classes—due to requests from parents.

"We try really hard to listen to our parents and to give them what they need," says director Julie Wolf. "It's hard enough to be a parent in the city, the last thing you need is to try and adjust to our schedule." MAGIC Activity Center will be building a brand-new classroom for the program, according to Wolf.

The program has rolling enrollment, though classes will be capped at 10-14 students. There is also early drop-off and extended-day programming available for those who need it. MAGIC Activity Center offers flexible scheduling and strives to be accommodating for both parents and their children.

"One of the things that parents get very excited about with our program is the amount of flexibility they have," Wolf says. "They choose the number of days and which days of the week they wish to send their child to [us], so it's incredibly flexible. We allow unlimited makeup classes, so you never have to worry that your child is going to miss out if you have to keep them home sick or you're traveling."

In addition to several classes, MAGIC Activity Center offers birthday parties for children as well as a Summer Days Camp that runs through Aug. 25 for children ages 2-6.

MAGIC Activity Center is located at 510 E. 74th St. on the Upper East Side. For more information, call 212-737-2989, email [email protected], or visit magicactivitycenter.com
