Today, BabyNames.com announced that the most popular baby names of 2014 are Liam and Charlotte for the third year in a row. In the boys' category, Liam is closely followed by Noah and Oliver, while Charlotte had competition from Amelia and Aria this year. See the full list of the top 20 most popular names of 2014 below.

According to BabyNames.com founder Jennifer Moss, Liam sprang to the No. 1 spot in 2012 when actor Liam Hemsworth was rising to stardom. Thanks to the Hunger Games movies, Hemsworth has stayed in the spotlight, and so has his moniker.

Parents are also using popular character names from fiction, especially television. Moss says the name Aria/Arya hit the top 10 names for girls after the television shows Pretty Little Liars and Game of Thrones both featured popular characters with that name.
