New Brooklyn-Based Online Tutoring Platform

GetATutor.com has launched its online tutoring platform for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

GetATutor.com
, a Brooklyn-based business, has launched its online tutoring platform, which provides professional, verified tutors for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

“The idea came about in response to a generation of students using their devices to learn,” says co-owner and founder Mitch Vilinsky. “Instead of being inconvenienced by a tutor coming into your home, children can simply utilize our online platform—and they love it.”

Tutoring sessions take place inside the platform’s online classroom, complete with video chat, live text editing, document sharing, and freehand drawing on an interactive whiteboard. File and document sharing allow use of the student’s textbooks for homework help. Subject-specific tools like calculators and compasses are also available. Tutors will use their knowledge of each individual’s learning style to craft more effective lessons.

Tutors are verified in math, science, social studies, English, and foreign languages. Parents searching for tutors for their children can visit GetATutor.com and select a tutor qualified in the grade level and subject they need help with. Tutors pass a rigorous screening process by professional educators and a background check to ensure quality and safety.

All video sessions are recorded and can be accessed by parents. Additional safety measures like one-way video lessons can be implemented. Video capabilities can also be disabled entirely.

GetATutor.com connects students and tutors from across the country. Sessions can be scheduled anytime, even when the student is out of town.
